Provide systems engineering expertise focusing on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, risk assessments, and verification & validation of Space-based capabilities (government & commercial) and associated ground sensors.
Works with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop technical solutions in support of SOF operational requirements.
Conduct requirements analysis and decomposition: translation of military operational requirements into technical specifications with further decomposition into sub-systems, components, and system characteristics, along with associated Measures of Performance (MOP).
Support development and staffing of various technical documents in support of Fielding & Deployment Release (F&DR) and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) activities.
Support government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
Conduct research and assessments of emerging Space technologies in support of SOF's emerging operational requirements.
Evaluates and recommends technical solutions to address SOF operational requirements utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering.
Applies advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.
Assist in the development of Statements of Work/Statement of Objectives (SOW/SOO).
Conduct advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, conduct technical analysis to assess performance, and present results and recommendations based on analysis.
Provides expert technical level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
Support requirements management and traceability of requirements throughout the design, Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E), and sustainment phase of a system’s lifecycle.
Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility
Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution
Years of Experience: 10 years of experience in systems engineering, including: At least 6 years of relevant experience in Space programs
Strong technical understanding of National Reconnaissance Office overhead systems and associated processes
Minimum 5 years of technical experience exercising RF theory
Practical understanding of Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (TTL), sensors, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems
