Provide technical support on various engineering ship design projects
Review and analyze preliminary and functional design documentation of shipboard electrical, marine, control, and alarm and monitoring systems
Perform contractual specification write-up and review/research regulatory rules and commercial standards
Develop and oversee deliverables, QA, root cause failures, and risk assessment for electrical system on Navy Vessels
Write-up technical reports on electrical system assessment on Navy vessels
Familiar with commercial standards (e.g., ABS MVR, ABS NVR)
Perform engineering site visits and shipchecks at various Navy and Commercial Shipyards
Perform electrical feasibility and trade-off studies for selection of generators, motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, UPS, control panels, cables, timers, circuit breakers, power panels, batteries, relays, etc.
Collaborate with other QA/review engineering mid-level, senior, and expert staff and generate final electrical technical products (e.g. Contract Deliverables, reports, etc.)
Requirements
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Engineering (BSE/BE)
BS/AS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or marine engineering; or similar background
significant US Navy enlisted equivalency training with an Associate’s degree will be accepted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
3-7 years of experience in US Naval Ship Engineering, NAVSEA/PEO Governmental Organizations, Shipyard Construction and Repair, Ship Operations, or similar electrical power systems experience
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills with complex technical issues
Ability to create graphical representations and PowerPoints
Ability to read and decipher technical electrical documentation (2D AutoCAD drawings, manuals, datasheets, cost estimations, reports, etc.)
Strong analytical skills
Willingness to travel 10% of the time
Capable of performing verification shipchecks onboard MSC and Navy ships
