The Intern is provided assignments that include the major processes within the AUB Information Security Department.
The intern will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of the following: Risk Assessment & Compliance: Assist in conducting IT risk assessments, vendor risk reviews, cataloging and treatment of risk issues, and maintaining compliance with regulations (e.g., NIST, GLBA).
Access Management: Participate in user access reviews and evaluate access requests.
Documentation & Procedures: Develop and update security policies, standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Projects & Reporting: Assist with security projects, including preparing dashboards and reports using tools like Excel or Power BI.
Identify, design and collect metrics for the Information Security Program.
Support improvement efforts around data quality for tracking technology and data assets within System of Record (SoR) and other governance systems.
This position reports to the Atlantic Union Bank (AUB) Business Information Security Officer (BISO) and has a hybrid residency, with a minimum of two days onsite each week.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years’ old
Currently working on a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required
Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday
