Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the electric power system by providing innovative engineering support via assignments in asset or component development, reliability analysis and improvement, or long and short term system planning and implementation
Work on assignments supporting distribution or distribution network systems
Gather reliability information to facilitate the development of distribution reliability strategy and metrics
Support budget development, tracking, work plan commitments, projections, and overall financials of assigned reliability improvement programs
Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all company and regulatory safety and quality processes and procedures
Requirements
Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited University
Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship
Must have reliable transportation to and from work location
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA (desired)
Planning on pursuing a concentration or has taken coursework in power systems engineering (desired)
General Knowledge of Utility Industry (desired)
Knowledge of power systems, power flow analysis, protection, voltage stability, and distribution planning (desired)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (desired)
Familiarity with Foundry and python and SQL scripts (desired)
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members (desired)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills (desired)
Strong communication skills, both oral and written (desired)
