Directly supervise a team of analysts and/or principals.
Effectively delegate authority and responsibility.
Effectively manage the sale and purchase of products managed by the department and disseminate updates to key internal and external parties.
Lead solicitations, complex contract negotiations, portfolio analysis, program implementation, and/or strategy development from start to finish, including management approval.
Act as thought leader in the development of strategy or resolution of complex issues.
Present proposals to Directors, Officers, and Sr. Officers in support of strategic planning, regulatory filings and other major decisions.
Build and manage relationships with new and existing entities in the market area of focus.
Prepare strategy papers, deliver presentations to regulators or stakeholders, serve as expert witness for PG&E’s request at CPUC, CEC or FERC, and manage relationship with the Independent Evaluator.
Proactively develop and document existing and new sales, procurement and compliance business processes, including identifying ways to improve such processes, systems, and/or procedures to help reduce errors and improve efficiency.
Research emerging regulatory and policy issues and effectively communicate complex ideas or technical information to diverse audiences.
Apply and guide others to apply understanding of Company goals and strategies to everyday work and tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field, mathematics, engineering, environmental policy or equivalent field of study
Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
Six years of work experience in the wholesale supply side of the energy industry
Knowledge of the procurement needs for the Company’s wholesale energy portfolio, the impacts of the company’s competitive position, and rules and regulations that impact procurement
Strong attention to detail to deliver high quality work products
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Understanding of meaning and rationale of PG&E contract provisions; typical counterparty concerns; and the impact of specific contract language
Ability to lead and to develop new procurement products and contract documents
Ability to structure highly complex power procurement contracts
Ability to present highly complex data and findings to diverse audiences; to lead Company development activities and to represent Energy Transactions in discussions of electric procurement issues
Ability to work across functions, removing barriers, and partnering with other organizations to reach goals
Ability to solve and make decisions on complex problems with little guidance and sometimes incomplete information
Strong leadership and management skills
Ability to motivate and supervise a group of individual contributors
Knowledge of organizational structures, decision making and governance procedures regarding commercial procurement
Ability to influence key decision makers
