The Security Guard will protect The Providence Center, clients, visitors and staff against the hazards of crime, fire, trespass, and other emergencies.
Maintain decorum of all persons and assist in the enforcement of center rules, policies and regulations.
Maintain a physical presence on the property.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPI, HWC and any additional de-escalation trainings.
Patrol TPC facilities in their entirety including parking areas and perimeter checks to prevent fires, theft and vandalism.
Look for Park and Ride vehicles, issue warnings via the paging system and call towing company as needed.
Escort employees to parking area as requested.
Investigate incidents of unusual occurrences reported by clients, visitors or staff.
Document investigative steps and results and complete incident reports as required by policy.
Monitor functionality of security systems and report issues to manager.
Respond to all support team calls.
Assist in client restraint as necessary.
Report all safety and security hazards to manager.
Patrol facilities and grounds inspecting doors, windows and locks.
Inspect fire safety equipment or any other equipment/property as assigned.
Conduct and monitor fire drills, complete Fire Drill Evaluation Form.
Assure safety of clients, visitors, staff and facilities during emergency situations.
Conduct safety assessments of main buildings, submit any applicable work requests and ensure completion of work.
Conduct biannual vehicle safety assessments, report findings and work with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure any needed repairs are completed.
Issue ID/Access Badges for employees upon hire and on as-needed basis.
Monitor ID/Access badge supply levels.
Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures set forth by TPC and by any applicable federal and state laws.
Attend/complete mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings as required, as well as participate in staff meetings.
Other duties may be assigned; May conduct new employee Driver's Training. Periodically act as preceptor for new hire Security Guards. Maintain monthly security schedule, working with manager to ensure coverage at buildings, compliance with training schedule and availability of security team to cover necessary functions.
Work with the Environment of Care Committee to ensure policies and procedures appropriately apply to functions within the Center.
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations required.
Minimum 1 year experience in a security guard position preferred.
Familiarity with Word, Outlook and Excel and must.
Must have valid drivers license and insured auto.
