Establishes and maintains smooth operation of computer NIPR, SIPR and Mission systems in networked or stand-alone configurations.
Maintains system integrity, and upgrades systems and/or servers as required.
Creates and documents new methods supporting network/system operations and implements changes to procedures.
Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff in the resolution of problems.
Coordinates and performs operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers.
Identifies recurring problems and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems.
Plans for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies.
Utilizes system software to monitor the performance of system files.
Manages system data to maintain performance efficiencies and/or studies system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.
Requirements
Must possess an active DoD SECRET clearance, or higher.
Must have one of the following DoD 8140.03 compliant certifications CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP or be able to obtain within 60 days of starting work.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/System Administration with 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Must have proficiency in managing and troubleshooting various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
Must have strong understanding of network protocols, configuration, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Must have experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Must have knowledge of security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and data protection.
Must have proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automating tasks.
Must have experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and execution.
