Identify, forecast, and optimize capital spending for new model programs based on limited inputs
Work extensively with the Packaging Engineering Implementation teams, Material Flow, Material Logistics, Vehicle Operations, Manufacturing, Stamping, Ergonomics, Product Development, and the Design Studio to achieve lowest total cost solutions
Act as the single point of contact for Packaging Engineering, for your assigned studies, including coordinating department responses and internal reviews
Support all study meetings, including program milestone and touchpoint reviews, and be comfortable presenting/explaining cost drivers and opportunities to upper management
Develop feasible, affordable, best-in-class, container concepts (3D models) using 3DX, CATIA and other proprietary tools
Following program approval, develop and present handoff materials to direct the Packaging Implementation teams on the approved plan of action and allocated finances
Drive improvements in pack density and container design to achieve MP&L freight and investment efficiency objectives
Develop new tools and methods to identify and predict trends to ensure accurate forecasts from pre
to post-milestones.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Packaging or Supply Chain or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, a challenging workload, competing priorities, and aggressive timelines
Superb written, visual and verbal communication skills
Be a team player, willing to assist your peers as required
Entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong memory for details
Demonstrated leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with all levels of an organization
Experience working collaboratively on teams and driving issues to resolution
Prior experience with program milestone manufacturing cost studies (preferred)
Prior experience (preferred, not required) with 3D CAD/PLM software (3DX, CATIA and Teamcenter)
Experience with EMMS WERS, PFEP & FEDE BOM preferred
