Responsible for managing all aspects of their product within assigned geographic territory, generally two mid-size states.
Assesses profitability, growth, competitors, strategies, and initiates changes to the product or rating approach in the territory in order to maximize Farmers’ opportunities.
Responsible for profits/losses in assigned product/territory.
Analyzes internal and external data to fully understand profit, production, competitive position and market trends to develop strategies to drive profitable growth.
Develops long-and short-term plans for their assigned product/territory with corresponding State Manager.
Leverages market research to identify growth opportunities within the assigned product/territory.
Takes leadership role in special projects as assigned by State Manager.
Collaborates with internal partners in Distribution, Underwriting, Analytics, Actuarial, IT, and Claims to understand profitability, market opportunities and potential system changes.
Coordinates state and home office legislative and regulatory affairs by providing input on key bills and regulation.
Recruits, trains and develops product analysts.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelors degree highly preferred (possibly required for certain roles) in mathematical or statistical field.
Graduate degree preferred.
Personal lines product management experience in complex states is highly preferred
Product Analyst, Actuarial or similar experiences within property and casualty personal lines insurance preferred.
Proficient PC Skills, including Excel, Word. PowerPoint and basic programming for statistical purposes.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including ability to make effective presentations and write articles publishable in trade magazines.
