Underwriting Consultant – Environmental

Role Overview

• Underwrites risks including the selection and rejection of new and renewal business for complex, specialty accounts.
• Maximizes opportunities for underwriting profitable business based on market conditions.
• Develops and maintains an active target account list tracking prospects.
• Manages financial performance including loss ratio, premium plans, and commission targets.
• Ensures compliance with standards and assigned underwriting authorities.
• Makes decisions to accept, decline, or modify risks within authority levels.
• Develops working relationships with producers to achieve growth and profitability goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years of progressively more complex specialty lines underwriting experience.
• Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).
