Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, including preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers for complex transactions.
Evaluate and implement new accounting standards and assess impacts on financial statements, processes, and controls.
Advise on accounting implications for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, business combinations, equity transactions, and other non-routine items.
Support quarterly and annual close processes by reviewing complex journal entries and disclosures.
Partner with external auditors to support audits and reviews, including responding to technical accounting inquiries.
Lead accounting due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Prepare and review purchase price accounting, including valuation inputs, opening balance sheets, goodwill, and intangible assets.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, and Business leaders to assess accounting impacts of business initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
CPA required.
8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred) and industry experience in a technical accounting or reporting role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements (if applicable).
Hands-on experience with M&A accounting and purchase accounting.
Proven ability to write clear, well-supported technical accounting memos.
