COOP Student, Engineering Assistant – Transit

Role Overview

• Provide design and engineering assistance/support to transit fleet engineers and technicians
• Conduct research, sort and categorize findings
• Analyze information and draw conclusions
• Write reports and present information in a clear and direct manner
• Use common office computer applications including spreadsheets and Maintenance information management systems
• Use drafting software such as MicroStation or SolidWorks

Requirements

• Enrolment in a recognized co-operative engineering program
• 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student preferred
• No experience required
• Knowledge of vehicle systems and sub-systems
• Analytical and research techniques
• Computer software applications such as MS Office Suite and drafting software
• Maintenance information management systems
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
• English oral, reading, writing
