Plan and Execute defined scope of CAPEX measures and projects (or their own subprojects) within budget, time, quality, and safety parameters.
Prepare project approval documentation.
Carry out all project phases, from project idea to scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
Prepare relevant designs, cost estimates, time schedules, resource plans, risk analysis, including HAZOPs, change orders, etc.
Coordinate project work with relevant interfaces (internal & external) such as R&D, Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Legal M&A, Procurement, authorities, suppliers, contractors, etc.
Ensure full compliance with the best internal and external practices, guidelines, regulations, and legislation.
Select and functionally manage assigned project members.
Select and manage engineering consultants and contractors.
Specify and select services, machinery, equipment, etc.
Responsible for regular project controlling & reporting to the Steering Committee/Senior Management.
Ensure appropriate project and technical documentation is met.
Responsible for post-completion project evaluation (KPI’s, lessons learned, etc.).
Review, develop, and update engineering processes and procedures.
Coaching of less experienced colleagues.
Requirements
Engineering degree in Chemical or Mechanical
15 years of experience in project engineering or comparable technical roles
10 years of direct project experience as Project Manager
Preference for the experience to be in the chemical industry
Project Management skills (formal training desirable)
The ability to drive execution, lead courageously, and strategically plan in a way that advocates for the customer
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels
Experience with Chemical Processing, grinding & dispersing technology
Familiarity with NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency), ATEX (Atmosphere Explosible), European version of NFPA, and ICC(International Code Council) for building codes (desired)
