Working in the procurement of mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards
Follows up on all awards through completion of order
Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records
May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
10 years or more experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
10 years or more experience in negotiations
10 years or more experience in procurement of mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities
10 years or more experience in the field and will represent the organization as the prime contact on a project or program
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
