Schedules, supervises, and assists staff in providing fair and reasonable negotiations for needed land.
Conducts negotiations with property owners, their attorneys, and public officials for acquisition of right-of-way from railroads and/or in complex and special cases.
Supervises the preparation of relocation assistance plans and other necessary documents for title clearance and payments.
Prepares condemnation requests and work with the Special Assistant Attorneys General in eminent domain proceedings.
Provides liaison for local agencies on land acquisition matters.
Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
Requirements
Completion of two years of college majoring in engineering, construction management, or related fields PLUS three years of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management or relocation assistance or a combination thereof
OR Four years of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management or relocation assistance or a combination thereof
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
Experience and knowledge of the land acquisition process and how it relates to highway projects.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Requires district and state-wide travel with occasional overnight stays is required.
Requires successful completion of a background screening.
