Role Overview
- Responsible for providing coding and abstracting services for clients' inpatient charts
- Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures
- Assign diagnostic and procedural codes after thorough review
- Ensure appropriate DRG assignments and meet productivity and quality performance requirements
- Maintain effective and professional communication skills
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years related IP coding experience
- Must be able to code multi-specialty IP charts (not a teaching facility)
- CCS or CIC credentials required
- Strong coding background and familiarity with complex diagnoses and stays
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
- Must understand medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processes.
