About this role
Role Overview
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements.
Evaluate vendor performance using quality, delivery, and cost criteria referenced in SHRM's vendor management guidance.
Maintain compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Track inventory levels and reorder points with accuracy.
Prevent stockouts and overstocking by using data driven controls similar to those outlined by APQC inventory management standards.
Support cycle counts and inventory audits.
Review Market activity using trend reports and benchmarking tools.
Forecast demand based on organizational goals and historical purchasing patterns.
Recommend purchasing adjustments to reduce risk and strengthen supply stability.
Maintain a continuous partnership with the finance department to align purchasing with budget plans.
Track cost trends and procurement of KPIs.
Present monthly purchasing reports with insights and improvement opportunities.
Supervise purchasing specialists and support their workflow.
Requirements
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Experience in purchasing or supply chain management with responsibility for vendor relations or contract negotiation.
Experience implementing cost saving initiatives or process improvement.
Strong negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable terms.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to remain focused and calm in stressful situations.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Experience with Purchasing and Inventory Software.
Superior data management and data analysis skills to evaluate market conditions and vendor performance.
Familiarity with principles of process improvement.
