Gain experience with each step of the Risk Management Framework from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), informed by the NIST SP 800-53.
Assist in the development and implementation of tailored system security plans.
Assist in development of technical training materials and resources.
Participate in hands-on training in Governance/Compliance, and technical system hardening and continuous monitoring.
Gain hands-on experience with compliance and cybersecurity tools, such as vulnerability scanners, patch management solutions, and air gapped SIEM tools.
Participate in incident response activities, including triage, analysis, containment, and remediation of security threats.
Assist in documenting security incidents, vulnerabilities, and response actions.
Support vulnerability assessments by identifying, analyzing, and assisting with remediation efforts.
Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, information security trends, and industry best practices.
Assist in coordinating conferences and special events.
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Basic understanding of information security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, and cybersecurity concepts, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with excellent communication skills.
