Work with a cross-functional team to develop Avionics systems
Follow product from conceptualization through hardware integration and testing
Perform mechanical engineering activities related to design, analysis, documentation, processing, fabrication, assembly, and qualification
Create complex mechanical designs and execute layouts for multiple products
Demonstrate ability in packaging electrical components in rugged environments
Support the mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of designs
Interact with outside vendors to source parts
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Prior experience packaging electronics for use in avionics platforms is strongly desired
Experience in design and testing to military environments (i.e. temperature, vibration, shock, etc)
Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFMA) experience
Experience with machined part design
Experience with plastic and/or sheet metal part design
Experience with EVMS cost and schedule practices
3 years experience in Mechanical design, requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, component 3D CAD modeling, data collection and product documentation
Experience with standard ASME Y14.5M-1994 and GD&T
Experience with MS Office suite
Prior or current experience working on avionics products or systems
2+ years experience in 3D CAD Modeling – PTC Creo, Catia, NX or SolidWorks
Experience packaging electronics including design for and testing to military environments (i.e. temperature, vibration, shock, etc)
