About this role
Role Overview
Lead programming workshops and client planning meetings for small to mid-sized projects, and support planning strategy on larger multidisciplinary efforts.
Facilitate operational planning discussions, aligning business goals, process flow, and spatial strategy during early project phases.
Translate client requirements into clear space plans, adjacency strategies, and integrated facility layouts.
Apply regulatory and cGMP planning considerations in collaboration with senior subject matter experts.
Participate in feasibility studies, master planning efforts, and front-end loading (FEL) initiatives.
Contribute to elevations, visual studies, and renderings that communicate design intent.
Work across a diverse portfolio including: Greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, Renovations and facility optimizations, Laboratories and technical environments, Offices and warehouse/distribution spaces.
Coordinate closely with GBA’s integrated in-house team of architects, engineers, and preconstruction professionals.
Help resolve planning and layout challenges within complex regulated environments.
Mentor junior staff and support team development.
Manage multiple projects concurrently, primarily through early design phases (~30%).
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or related field
8+ years of experience in architecture, facility planning, or process-driven environments preferably life sciences or regulated industries
Strong expertise in space planning, adjacency development, and facility layout strategy
Working knowledge of cGMP environments and regulatory considerations
Experience facilitating programming workshops and client planning sessions
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
Strong interest in front-end planning and client engagement; this is not a production-focused role
Comfortable navigating ambiguity in early project phases and helping clients bring structure to complex operational challenges.
