Perform visual inspections and field surveys required for project design.
Design and produce electrical plans and specifications for buildings, including lighting systems, power distribution, fire alarm systems, electrical installations and other related systems, in compliance with the Building Code and applicable standards.
May be required to perform specialized electrotechnical studies and produce associated technical reports, including: arc flash analyses, grounding studies (MALT), protection coordination and selectivity, and short-circuit and load calculations.
May also be required to design normal and emergency distribution networks for critical infrastructure such as data centers, hospitals and other strategic facilities.
Use specialized software to model low
and medium-voltage electrical networks.
Ensure deliverables, schedules and the quality of produced drawings and technical documents are met.
Carry out required site inspections for projects related to the specialty and prepare the corresponding visit reports.
Lead kickoff and coordination meetings, coordinate with other disciplines and ensure client and professional requirements are met.
Ensure engineering work execution complies with EXP's quality standards, applicable codes and contractual documents.
Keep up to date with equipment, standards, technologies and best practices related to the specialty.
Provide technical recommendations as part of various files and mandates.
Perform any other related duties.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical engineering, building engineering or other equivalent qualification).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building electrical systems, ideally in consulting engineering, including knowledge of low
and medium-voltage power distribution.
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Experience designing critical infrastructure such as data centers, healthcare facilities or high-density technology environments (an asset).
Experience in arc flash risk analysis in industrial, commercial or institutional installations (an asset).
Good knowledge of design and drafting software, notably Revit.
Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards.
Proficiency with electrical modeling software such as ETAP, EasyPower or equivalents.
Excellent command of French, both written and spoken.
Advanced proficiency in English, particularly for collaborating with partners in Canada, the United States and internationally (an asset).
