Manages the Transit Services Purchasing Operations & Warranty Programs
Ensures the availability of stock for transit bus and facility maintenance
Responsible for general effectiveness of materials management operations
Requirements
Completion of 3 year community college diploma in Business Administration, Materials and Operations Management or related field
Minimum of 3 years of materials management and control experience, preferably in a bus and/or automotive parts environment.
Knowledge of City/branch/department policies and procedures affecting Transit Materials Management Operations and the interface with Transit Facilities maintenance and Finance
Knowledge of the computerized materials management system
Knowledge of mechanical parts and supplies relating to vehicular and facility maintenance
Knowledge of inventory control and warehousing practices
Knowledge of purchasing, requisitioning and disposal procedures
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
Familiarity with SAP systems
Mechanical knowledge
Ongoing completion of Materials Management certificate courses
