Support the head of regional sector in business development activities across Americas including development of offerings, client engagement and pitching
Be responsible for a selected subset of clients in Americas with direct ownership for the development of the relationship and pursue consulting opportunities
Work with global sector team to develop global offerings and share best practices
Building and maintaining the internal network (across consulting, research and sales and account management) to deliver the best possible outcome for both Wood Mackenzie and its clients
Generating innovative ideas and approaches to industry issues, both within the assignments and to the consulting practice as a whole
Working with colleagues in our other sector consulting teams to ensure good coordination across the value chain for our clients
Be the in-house subject matter expert in one more of the following areas: wind energy, solar energy, energy storage
Support and coach project team members on a range of consulting projects, including operation of sophisticated internal power models and develop spreadsheets and models for new analyses
Contribute towards the content and format of consulting presentations and reports
Extract and analysing data from internal and external sources such as databases, websites, industry interviews and Wood Mackenzie proprietary data and products
Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality analysis is delivered
Take ownership for analysis undertaken, and defend work to clients in a coherent, credible and authoritative manner
Effective and timely communication with clients, inform them of progress at all times
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally
Establish good working relationships with colleagues across the business
Keep client and internal teams informed of progress at all times
Present clearly and concisely to clients and colleagues

Requirements
Direct experience within the power & renewables industry or in a related consulting environment with demonstrated experience in project management
Demonstrable direct working experience at a power and/or renewables focused consulting firm, IPP, power utility, development company, infrastructure fund, bank, or other such analytical or consulting role in the power & renewables industry
A strong understanding of the power industry dynamics, US power markets, power market fundamentals and price setting, core technologies (wind, solar, BESS, gas/flexible resource), business models and strategies
Analytical skills including but not limited to financial modelling and familiarity with power asset and/or market modelling (commercial)
Undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, or finance
Proven experience of working in a team environment is essential
Proven experience of acting as a commercial advisor in power and renewables transactions highly desirable
Some experience in an energy or strategy consulting environment would be beneficial
