About this role
Role Overview
- Lead the technical ownership and engineering development of furniture systems
- Responsible for full CAD control, manufacturing documentation, and structural validation
- Develop mechanical systems including recliners and modular sleeper mechanisms
- Work directly with overseas factories in Asia and ensure products are production-ready
- Rebuild and standardize full 3D CAD assemblies for modular sofa product lines
- Create detailed part drawings, weldment drawings, and assembly drawings
- Develop structured Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Improve manufacturability and reduce cost through engineering optimization
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, or related field
- 5-10+ years experience in furniture systems or mechanical product development
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent parametric CAD software
- Experience with steel fabrication and weldments
- Experience creating full manufacturing drawing packages
- Strong understanding of tolerances and fabrication processes
- Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners
- Experience designing sleeper or recliner mechanisms (preferred)
- Familiarity with fatigue and durability testing (preferred)
- Basic FEA knowledge (preferred)
- Upholstery integration experience (preferred)
