About this role
Role Overview
Identify and update merchandise cost estimates, report on the costs of new products versus the target budget;
Have an excellent understanding of product structures, from raw materials to the final system;
Actively support bidding activities and customer proposals by establishing base product costs;
Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders to guarantee that cost targets are met;
Stay well informed about the market value and availability of raw materials;
Collaborate in the selection of new suppliers with the support of engineering, commodity management, and other stakeholders to find quality suppliers who are able to meet project deadlines and budget requirements;
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, improve costs and quality, and reduce risks;
Analyze and improve supply chain processes to reduce costs and lead times;
Collaborate with product development, production, and logistics teams to develop new product launch plans;
Support the team and electronics manufacturing partners in meeting start-up schedules for product batches in development;
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies;
Be flexible with the schedule in order to coordinate meetings and conference calls with global partners;
Participate in continuous improvement projects;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, administration, operations or business management, electrical engineering, or a related field;
Experience: 8 years in the electronics market supply chain sector;
Knowledge: Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel, MRP/ERP; AS9102 certification; knowledge of the electrical, avionics, defense, and telecom industries, SAP, CalcuQuote, WayRTS, and mechanical blueprint reading;
Assets: Autonomy and self-confidence;
Profile: Strong team player, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to respond well to pressure, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, flexibility, and excellent communication skills;
Languages: French and English (spoken and written). Functional proficiency in both languages is required given the various internal communications in Quebec and with global subcontractors, the parent company, and sister entities of the Kontron group.
