About this role
Role Overview
As a Senior Platform Engineer you'll be working as part of an agile team that provides services and tools to our internal engineering teams
Suggest and drive change across the engineering team and both challenge and improve existing practices and systems
You'll be introducing new technologies and approaches, and play a key role in the technical direction that platform engineering at Tempcover should take, while providing support and maintenance of existing platforms
Helping drive and shape projects to rebuild our cloud infrastructure, moving from Azure to AWS
Mentor and coach other engineers; helping them grow whilst fostering a strong engineering culture
Requirements
Strong and proven experience with AWS, its products and its Well Architected frameworks
Automation and infrastructure management using an IaC approach
Experience in API Gateways, DNS and load-balancing for a micro service driven architecture (preferably using CloudFlare)
Experience in developed or architected secure environments, pipelines and software in a high load consumer-facing websites which are also regulated
Experience in CI/CD technologies (we are using Github Actions)
Experience working in IaaS and PaaS platforms models
Experience using scripting, and ideally programming with languages such as Golang
SST, GCP and Tailscale are definitely a plus
Using data to drive decision making
Demonstrable experience of taking the lead in solving business problems
Industry experience in implementing platform engineering approaches, and offering services to internal customers
Willingness to learn and passion to keep yourself at the forefront of technology delivery
Experience being part of a cross functional agile team, working together to solve problems and deliver outcomes
