About this role
Role Overview
- Within 1 month: Understand our product features and Shopify app workflows. Get familiar with the existing Python + Selenium automation framework. Learn release cycles and QA processes. Collaborate with product and engineering teams on test planning.
- Within 3 months: Execute manual and automated test cases. Add new automation scripts for new and existing features. Perform regression and exploratory testing. Log, track, and verify defect fixes.
- Within 6 months: Take ownership of increasing automation coverage. Refactor and improve framework maintainability. Optimise regression cycles through better automation. Help improve QA processes and release reliability.
- Within 12 months: Maintain test documentation and QA metrics. Improve reporting and defect analysis. Contribute to long-term QA automation strategy. Help scale QA practices as the engineering team grows.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in software testing and QA activities.
- Strong experience in Python and Selenium automation.
- Experience designing or maintaining automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies.
- Experience writing test plans and test cases.
- Ability to debug issues and work closely with developers.
- Experience with SaaS or web applications preferred.
- Exposure to e-commerce or the Shopify ecosystem is a bonus.
