Act as the technical authority on railway power systems, power quality, and EMC impacts
Design and model multi-MW rail electrification systems, including power converters and protection schemes
Provide guidance to cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and delivery teams
Lead technical analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ETAP, or DigSilent
Support full lifecycle project activity from pre-bid, tendering, through to execution and validation
Ensure all solutions comply with applicable Network Rail, national grid, and international standards
Represent GE in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and industry bodies
Contribute to the ongoing power systems strategy for rail and utilities within the UK and globally
Drive innovation and technology adoption to meet the demands of future railway infrastructure
Collaborate with sales and business development teams in technical workshops and customer engagement
Support timely and quality-driven project delivery, balancing cost and performance.

Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering, ideally with a focus on power systems
Significant experience in railway power systems, grid connection, and power quality/EMC
Strong knowledge of power electronic converter systems in rail or industrial settings
Track record of designing or reviewing rail electrification systems (HV/MV/LV)
Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ETAP, or DigSilent
