Serve as the primary legal partner supporting product and engineering teams.
Advise on product design, user flows, consent mechanisms, disclosures, marketing claims, and terms of use.
Partner with teams to design and implement processes to identify legal risk and develop practical, business-aligned mitigation strategies.
Support AI-enabled features and data-driven tools with a focus on responsible implementation and user trust.
Advise on HIPAA and other applicable U.S. privacy frameworks, as well as global privacy considerations where relevant.
Support the continued development, operationalization, and maintenance of the company’s privacy program.
Advise on data use, vendor data practices, and third-party integrations to ensure appropriate protections are in place.
Draft and maintain privacy-related documentation, including policies, internal training and guidance, and related contract terms.
Collaborate with Security and Compliance partners to align on privacy and data governance practices.
Advise on privacy and data security provisions in vendor, partner, and customer agreements, including data sharing agreements, BAAs, DPAs, and technology integration agreements.
Manage engagements with external counterparts on data privacy matters.
Work closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Marketing, and Operations teams to provide timely, actionable legal advice.
Contribute to the development of scalable product review and documentation processes.
Stay current on legal and industry developments relevant to digital health, privacy, and product innovation.
Requirements
J.D. and admission to at least one state bar
7+ years of legal experience, including meaningful in-house experience in technology, digital health, or similarly regulated industries
Strong background in product counseling in a fast-paced environment, including substantial experience advising on HIPAA and broader U.S. privacy frameworks
Experience partnering directly with product and engineering teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound business judgment
Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences.
