Reviewing the large repository of complaint data
Researching current and anticipated future technology advances to assess potential impact on the investigation of technology crimes
Providing training and guidance to employees relevant to computer crime investigations and related topics
Providing assistance to citizens questions or concerns regarding computer crimes
Interviewing members of the public (victims, witnesses, and potential targets)
Participating in interviews conducted by Special Agents
Working with outside law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies on a regular basis
Extracting pertinent entries from records examined and preparing concise summary of findings
Requirements
Four years of experience for Crime Intelligence Analyst I
Five years of experience for Crime Intelligence Analyst II
Seven years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I
Nine years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of experience
A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline can substitute for one year of experience
Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in law enforcement can substitute for one year of the required experience
