Create, maintain and further develop component and footprint libraries for our products and assemblies
Develop PCB layouts from scratch based on schematics provided by electrical engineers
Ensure clean and consistent schematic and layout maintenance
Redesign, adapt and optimize existing printed circuit boards, including analysis of existing structures and implementation of design and component changes
Work on projects of varying durations — from short-term adjustments to multi-month development projects
Manage and maintain bills of materials (BOM), including updating and replacing discontinued or obsolete components
Conduct design reviews and inspect/clean up layouts to ensure quality, consistency and manufacturability
Collaborate closely with internal departments and coordinate directly with customers on technical matters
Requirements
Degree or vocational training in electrical engineering, technical computer science or a comparable technical field
At least 3 years of professional experience as a PCB layout engineer / PCB designer
Very proficient with EDA/CAD software, ideally Altium Designer
Good ability to read and implement schematics
Solid understanding of the physical principles of electronics
Experience in at least one of the following areas is an advantage: high-speed design, EMC-compliant layout, signal integrity, thermal design, RF/high-frequency layouts
Strong quality and sense of responsibility, with a careful and structured working approach
Excellent communication skills, goal-oriented thinking and acting, and strong conceptual abilities
Creativity, flexibility and ability to work in a team
Excellent German and good English skills, both written and spoken
