Oversee development of protection and control engineering packages for substation projects.
Provide expert guidance on relay protection schemes, SCADA, automation, and communication system design.
Approve and stamp engineering deliverables as needed (one‑line diagrams, three‑line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay settings, control wiring, I/O lists, etc.).
Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, IEC, and utility‑specific standards.
Lead technical reviews, QA/QC processes, and design optimization initiatives.
Coordinate with civil, structural, physical engineering teams to ensure integrated design.
Support project managers with technical input, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
Oversee resource planning, workload forecasting, and project staffing.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of P&C engineers, designers, and technicians.
Establish training programs, technical standards, and best practices.
Conduct performance evaluations and support career progression.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key utility and industrial clients.
Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
Build long‑term client relationships and identify opportunities for new or expanded services.
Represent the company in industry forums, technical committees, and conferences.
Contribute to annual business planning, revenue forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives.
Support development of new service offerings in grid modernization, automation, and digital substations.
Drive process improvements, design automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Power emphasis preferred).
10+ years of experience in protection & controls engineering.
Strong understanding of transmission and substation protection schemes, relay logic, and control systems.
Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and complex projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proficiency with industry tools (e.g., SEL AcSELerator, ASPEN, CAPE, ETAP, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
