Provide technical leadership in efforts associated with a variety of disciplines including electronic control systems, mechanical subsystems, signal acquisition, and data processing

Lead a technical team responsible for the design, modeling, testing, and packaging of highly complex electro-mechanical components and systems
Develop test methods by using engineering backgrounds including development software/firmware functions
Create system level engineering design specifications and project scope documents
Serve as the primary technical liaison for electronics vendors
Develop, document, and execute design verification plans
Report on results and present appropriate engineering tradeoffs to optimize functional performance, reliability, and product cost
Ensure product design meets industry and regulatory compliance requirements and standards
Analyze and implement continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and cost reduction
Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years, or B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience
Experience designing electronics for optoelectronic instruments, optical detection systems, and mixed-signal architectures
Experienced with thermal detectors, MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) sensors, thermoelectric coolers, near/mid IR filters, interferometers, optics, and mirrors used in NDIR and FTIR spectroscopy
Understanding of vacuum system infrastructure including MFCs, pressure controllers, and vacuum pumps
Skilled with the design and test of complex hardware/embedded software systems
Experienced in the development and testing of system integration & DVT plans
Strong technical communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills
Experience with Failure Analysis (FMEA)
