Security Officer

Role Overview

• Protects and provides a safe environment for hospitals, parking facilities, and visitors
• Assists in controlling access by periodically patrolling buildings and grounds
• Acts as a first responder to all emergency incidents
• Helps mitigate threats to safety and security
• Intervenes when suspicious or abnormal behavior is observed
• Conducts patrols of the hospital and reports on security hazards
• Maintains and operates vehicles and shuttles safely
• Conducts inquiries for administrative and potential criminal complaints
• Responds to all coded alarms and performs security escorts when needed
• Assists with evacuations in emergency situations

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience, or graduation from a Law Enforcement academy
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
• Knowledge of LVHN Emergency codes and response protocols
• Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of security equipment
• Driver's License_PA
• State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• BLS
• Basic Life Support AHA
• American Heart Association Within 90 Days
• CHSO
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer Basic Level
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Within 90 Days
• BCCM
• Basic Comprehensive Crisis Management
• Business Continuity Management Institute Within 90 Days
