About this role
Role Overview
- Holistic development of embedded systems consisting of hardware and low-level software for microcontroller
- and microprocessor-based systems in the areas of defense, railway technology and industrial control systems
- Conceptualization and planning of system architectures, hardware concepts and interfaces while taking functional, organizational and economic requirements into account
- Development of embedded software (base/firmware, applications and prototype software) as well as low-level testing for common microcontroller families
- Independent development and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits within a specified overall architecture
- Creation of EMC-compliant schematics and PCB layouts
- Description, specification and documentation of systems and software using UML and Structured Text
- Definition and creation of test specifications as well as construction, commissioning, optimization and verification of prototypes according to specification
- Execution and supervision of internal tests as well as tests at external testing institutes
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering / electronics
- Solid experience in developing embedded systems with microcontrollers from various classes and manufacturers
- Excellent knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded and hardware-near programming
- Excellent skills in hardware development, especially in the design and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits
- Solid understanding of electronic switching and control devices, microcontroller architectures and their system-level integration
- Experience in describing and modeling systems with UML or a comparable modeling language
- Very good knowledge of EMC-compliant design of electronic assemblies
- Confident user of at least one EDA tool, e.g., Altium Designer or comparable tools
- Experience in creating test specifications and in conducting and supervising tests
- Experience working with testing institutes and certification authorities is desirable
- Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken (must-have)
- Good English skills
