About this role
Role Overview
- Program, set-up, operate and maintain the machines in department simultaneously
- Work from production orders to perform designated operations
- Understand process improvement, component identification, material identification and inventory issues
- Reduce lead times and follow Kanban Process
- Download and adjust part programs with wear and geometry offsets
- Responsible for bar stock put away and disposal of waste chips
- Maintain coolant and all oil levels on machines
- Follow work order, blueprint and standard instructions during machine setup
- Change collets, tool inserts, tool blocks and tool holders
- Assist with training of other operators
- Read and understand manufacturing drawings
- Program Milling machines and Lathes to manufacture customer components
- Develop CNC programs for production runs and ensure that the information is correctly saved
- Maintain tooling data base
- Make manual program adjustments when required
- Eliminate non-value added activities
- Maintain safe work environment by following company safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3
- 7 years direct related work experience
- Fanuc and Mastercam programming essential
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyse blueprints
- Knowledge and experience of machinery and equipment maintenance
