About this role
Role Overview
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI datasets, reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
Write advanced SQL, Power Query (M), DAX measures, and optimized data models for performance and usability.
Monitor and optimize dataset refresh performance, model design, and query performance.
Implement and validate row-level security (RLS) and object-level security (OLS) where required.
Perform report quality assurance, peer review, testing, and version control (Dev/Test/Prod).
Support Power BI embedding scenarios, working with system administration or application teams as needed.
Manage workspace, dataset, and report access controls, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
Advise on and help automate Entra ID (Azure AD) group strategies to streamline and improve access management.
Monitor Fabric capacity, Pro license usage, dataset refreshes, and workspace health to ensure optimal performance.
Track and analyze report usage and adoption metrics, ensuring BI products deliver value and meet business needs.
Lead in Power BI tenant administration, including capacity monitoring, usage oversight, and policy management.
Requirements
5–8+ years of experience in BI development, with deep expertise in Microsoft Power BI.
Expert-level SQL, DAX, Power Query/M, semantic modeling, and data visualization skills.
Experience with Power BI administrative roles, including Premium capacity, gateways, and governance.
Strong understanding of Entra ID group automation, workspace roles, and enterprise access models.
Experience collaborating with data engineering teams, especially with Databricks or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and enabling analysts and developers
