Perform normal month-end close procedures including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and variance analysis of expenses versus budget/forecast.
Maintain an appropriate system of documentation and record all transactions in a timely manner including proper recording of accruals and reserves.
Work with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of payroll expenses, liabilities and to meet all financial reporting requirements for payroll related items.
Provide leadership and direction to the accounting and transaction-processing employees and encourage an attitude of continuous improvement in their day-to-day activities.
Implement process and system improvements as needed by the business and ensure the appropriate accounting treatment is setup.
Lead the billing/revenue recognition process, including deferred maintenance revenue amortization and accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
Develop, implement, and document appropriate control procedures.
Provide tax compliance support in the areas of income and sales and use.
Supervise and oversee accounts payable including processing and entry of invoices and ensuing timely payment to vendors.
Various General Ledger and accounting tasks as necessary.
Provide supporting schedules and analysis during the annual external audit.
Analyze financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Provide senior management with the financial information necessary to make sound policy decisions.

Advanced MS Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required, and NetSuite experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to foster a collaborative environment.
Possess a strong initiative to search for and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
Strong analytical, verbal, written, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and three to five years or more of professional experience.
Possess a strong working knowledge of GAAP and the ability to interpret and implement new GAAP guidance.
Experience in documenting and improving existing systems and processes.
Software experience preferred but not required.
CPA or CPA Candidate highly preferred.
