Act as subject matter expert for general operational trade compliance matters for our Supply Chain partners EU region (such as incoterms, HS classification, export control, (proof of) origin)
Support and control all operational trade/customs processes in relation to our Customs brokers
Manage and resolve operational trade compliance issues within the EU/UK region; implements corrective actions as required
Support in creating trade and customs awareness within the Supply Chain organization by conducting training on trade compliance procedures and regulatory rules for internal and external stakeholders
Monitor legislation and support in managing actions for appropriate changes within the LYB organization
Support in the monitoring and contribution to LYB trade compliance performance and customs broker KPI’s
Customs licenses management including adjusting/applying for new customs licenses
Execute our trade compliance control framework (regular and periodic compliance reviews and assessments)
Support in the integration of technology tools in day-to-day operational procedures and analyses
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Degree in Customs and Trade a plus)
Minimum of 4-6 years work experience in the customs/trade compliance area (customs authorities, customs brokers or corporate multi-national environment). People within a similar role in an International environment with at least 3 years experience are welcome to apply
Proven knowledge of customs and trade regulations in Europe (other regions a plus)
Experience in product classifications (experience in the Chemical sector is a plus)
Knowledge of and experience with excise legislation and excise warehousing is considered a plus
Demonstrated experience handling in AEO and customs special procedures (IPR, OPR, End Use, etc.) are a plus
Experience managing SAP and global trade services
Experienced in automating processes, knowledge of SAP
Good understanding of internal compliance policy, business processes and operational procedures.
Proven experience working in a global, matrixed organization
Fluent in English in addition, French is considered a strong plus.
