Serve as a strategic thought partner to your vertical, helping translate data into clear, actionable insights that guide smarter business decisions.
Lead financial planning and modeling efforts, manage the vertical’s budget in close partnership with General Managers, and track performance against key KPIs to ensure alignment with NerdWallet’s annual plan.
Proactively identify risks and opportunities to help optimize investments, improve expense management, and shape the financial narrative that fuels sustainable growth.
Work cross-functionally within your vertical and alongside the broader Finance team, applying strong finance and accounting principles to solve complex business challenges and support informed decision-making.
Lead projects and initiatives with minimal oversight, contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions, and elevate outcomes through thoughtful modeling and analysis.
Mentor teammates and guide colleagues on financial best practices, supporting onboarding and learning opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of financial planning and analysis with a proven track record in business partnering
Prior experience in financial analysis, strategic and financial planning, building and maintaining financial models, and financial systems
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis experience
Proven ability to identify and communicate business opportunities, risks, and insights in a fast-moving environment
Experience in revenue analytics, margin analysis, and strategic financial planning
Outstanding G-Suite (or Excel and PowerPoint skills); familiarity with FP&A tools (Pigment, Anaplan, etc.) and Looker
