As a senior legal affairs advisor, you help protect the organization’s legal interests by ensuring compliance with laws
Play a key role in making sure rights are protected and obligations met
Represent the organization in situations involving legal interests
Responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as contested matters and the Office of the Corporate Secretary
Lead development projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative
Make recommendations on planning and execution of operationally complex projects
Frequently interact with stakeholders in many fields and serve as a specialist advisor
Advise clients and partners on strategic projects and initiatives
Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations
Interpret laws and regulations, issue legal opinions, and prepare rules, standards, policies, and agreements
Represent the organization in court and negotiate complex matters
Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support strategic projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of nine years of relevant experience
Knowledge of French is required
Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
