Senior Backend Engineer – Golang

Role Overview

• Develop robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions (preferably in Go), working at the core of our platform.
• Participate in evolving the architecture of our services, proposing improvements and bringing long-term vision.
• Actively collaborate in building technical processes, standards, best practices, and automations.
• Investigate complex issues, propose smart solutions, and anticipate risks and impacts.
• Work side-by-side with Product, Design, and other teams to deliver high-impact solutions for physicians, patients, and partners.
• Ensure quality of deliveries with testing, documentation, and attention to performance.
• Contribute ideas, technical discussions, and code reviews to raise the team’s technical level.
• Support an engineering culture with modern practices (CI/CD, observability, security, scalability).

Requirements

• Experience with AWS and a solid understanding of scalable, secure, and highly available environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, API Gateway, and monitoring/observability.
• Strong knowledge of Go (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Experience building and maintaining high-performance, resilient APIs.
• Solid SQL skills, especially with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Ability to model data, optimize queries, and understand performance characteristics.
• Experience with microservices, messaging systems, event-driven architectures, and complex integrations.
• Understanding of horizontal/vertical scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and architectural best practices.
• Daily use of Docker to create consistent environments.
• Familiarity with SQS, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous communication, consistency, and communication patterns.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security best practices.
• Clean, testable, and maintainable code (SOLID, Clean Code, KISS, DRY).
• Thoughtful use of Design Patterns—knowing when to apply them and when to avoid them.
• Clear documentation (sequence diagrams, components, flows).
• Organized versioning practices (GitFlow, semantic commits).
• Efficient use of caching, logging, and monitoring.
• Focus on performance, reliability, and the end-user experience.
• Interest in AI applied to development (ChatGPT, Copilot, automations, etc.).
• Experience in high-traffic environments or mission-critical products.
• Curiosity, ownership mindset, and a genuine desire to improve processes and architecture.
• Interest in healthcare, social impact, and purpose.
