As the Regional Compliance Officer for North America, you’ll set the vision and lead execution of a best‑in‑class compliance program grounded in trust, transparency, and operational excellence.
Lead Strategy & Execution Set the regional Compliance strategy in alignment with the Global Compliance Program.
Oversee compliance readiness for regulatory engagement, audits, and enforcement actions.
Implement all U.S.‑issued compliance obligations and lead annual reporting requirements.
Build a Modern, Scalable Compliance Organization Design a forward‑looking, risk‑based Compliance framework that enhances awareness, accountability, and ethical decision‑making.
Develop and lead a team of multi‑disciplinary compliance professionals across the region.
Establish a robust training program that grows internal compliance capabilities.
Strengthen Processes, Culture, and Communication Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures that meet global regulatory expectations.
Drive compliance training and communications that empower employees and leaders at every level.
Oversee the Compliance Hotline and partner cross‑functionally to guide investigations and drive corrective actions.
Lead monitoring and auditing efforts to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
Represent KARL STORZ as a Trusted, Strategic Voice Serve as a key liaison to regulators, industry associations, and thought leaders.
Stay ahead of emerging trends affecting Life Sciences compliance and translate insights into proactive strategy.
Report regularly to the Global CCO, Regional President, and Compliance Committee.
Requirements
15+ years of Compliance experience in Life Sciences (medical device, pharma, biotech, diagnostics).
Expertise in U.S. and international regulations including transparency, fraud and abuse, anti‑corruption, OIG guidance, AdvaMed/MedTech Code, and related frameworks.
Proven experience designing and leading compliance programs at a regional scale.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
Leadership & Soft Skills A trusted advisor with exceptional communication and executive presence.
Able to influence, guide, and partner across a complex matrixed organization.
Highly process‑oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Strong people leader with the ability to coach, inspire, and drive high‑performance teams.
Preferred 7+ years of direct leadership experience.
Certifications such as CHC or CCEP.
JD or advanced legal/compliance training.
