About this role
Role Overview
Lead technical teams on projects ranging from small to large
Work within GHD’s broader global tailings and dams communities on planning, investigation, and design projects for tailings storage facilities and hydroelectric projects
Share knowledge through the GHD Tailings School, a global online training course for professionals
Develop proposals for selecting exploration drill locations by overseeing tailings modelling and leading the data interpretation process
Design of tailings and hydro dams, including foundations, embankment stability, hydraulic analyses, and liquefaction assessments
Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve quality, tools, and supporting infrastructure
Manage key aspects of the data management system
Provide technical leadership through planning, feasibility, and detailed design phases
Undertake and lead geotechnical investigations
Develop policies and processes, create best practices, and build case studies for knowledge sharing
Mentor and train other GHD staff
Develop relationships with clients nationally and internationally
Requirements
University degree in Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical)
Post-graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering are an asset
Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license (or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Brunswick)
Significant experience (15+ years) in tailings dams, hydroelectric projects, and mine waste engineering—ideally in a consulting environment.
