Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Public Affairs
Works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to execute strategic communications plans
Supports and leads communications planning that advances SHN′s strategic plan
Develops high quality content for the hospital′s various online and print communication vehicles
Prioritizes work and performs multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Requirements
Completion of a 2-year Community College Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, journalism or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience in corporate communications or agency role
Creative thinker who always pushes the boundaries of what is possible
Experience in creating compelling communications including all staff memos, key messages, e-newsletters, campaign material, video scripts, remarks, news releases, online stories, posters, Q-and-As, social media posts, etc.
Familiar with email marketing, online surveys, best practices and tips (i.e. MailChimp)
Familiar with content management systems such as Word Press, SharePoint etc.
Skilled in Adobe Photoshop/InDesign, MS Office
Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills (following Canadian Press Style)
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
