Lead or contribute to the design, analysis, and coordination of electrical building systems
Conduct engineering research, evaluate design options, perform calculations and assessments, and prepare clear technical reports and recommendations
Lead and contribute to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and preparing proposals
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and technologists to transform design concepts into complete, coordinated engineering deliverables
Mentor junior engineers and technologists; promote innovative problem-solving
Apply engineering judgment to ensure design solutions comply with electrical codes, safety standards, building requirements, and industry best practices
Lead or participate in site surveys to assess existing electrical infrastructure
Coordinate electrical design requirements with architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil teams
Requirements
A Degree in Electrical Engineering, with registration or eligibility for registration with provincial Engineering Associations
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation, with in-depth knowledge of building, energy and electrical codes and standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design, coordination, and interdisciplinary project collaboration
Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information, draft detailed reports, and work collaboratively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and project stakeholders
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver quality work on time and within budget
Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred
Electrical design experience for commercial, institutional, retail and residential projects in accordance with applicable Codes and Standards
Experience using Agi32 lighting analysis software and SKM Power Tools
The ability to communicate in both English and French would be an asset.
