Counsel clients or patients individually and/or within family sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy.
Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with the patient.
Treatment plans are to be developed 72 hours after intake and updated / modified every 4 weeks.
Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including client diagnostic records and progress notes.
Progress notes are to be developed 48 hours after every session.
Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of client information.
Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with the existing patient.
Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
Requirements
Masters Degree from an accredited college or university
Two years of professional level experience in a counselor setting
Current and active license to practice behavioral health in Texas, Louisiana or Tennessee
