Responsible for the day to day and strategic management of the maintenance department to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the hospital’s facilities.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will be the link between senior management and the rest of the maintenance team, serving as the primary channel for the flow of information.
Provide asset condition and life cycle costing expertise to support context of the Engineering Department’s asset replacement program and the hospitals broader strategic asset master plan.
Requirements
Demonstrated competency in Electrical/Mechanical or associated Building skills in relation to building fabric, plant, equipment and general maintenance.
At least 5 years’ experience in leading and managing a Maintenance/Engineering team.
Extensive experience in the field of Facilities Management inclusive of construction, operation and maintenance.
Sound experience in mechanical and electrical engineering including the operation and maintenance of all steam, air conditioning, electrical and other plant and equipment usually found in a large Hospital.
Intermediate computer skills and demonstrated experience in the use of maintenance and finance systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective time management skills within a busy engineering department.
Demonstrated high level knowledge of project management and contract management in the context of delivering civil/ electrical/ mechanical building services upgrade projects and preventive maintenance programs.
Proven experience in the design, delivery and communication of technical and analytical reports to key stakeholders.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in technical, operational and organizational tasks, including a broad understanding of financial management principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
A knowledge of the various Standards, Regulations and Legislation applicable to the engineering and maintenance services of a Hospital.
Familiar with current asset management techniques, including working knowledge of planning/scheduling using CMMS systems.
