About this role
Role Overview
Act as subject matter expert for tank and vessel relief sizing analysis
Develop site strategy to ensure a valid contingency analysis for all site reliefs
Oversee implementation of that strategy
Act as process engineering support to the units
Analyze current process capability, find root causes to issues, and implement improvements
Represent manufacturing and process optimization projects using a cross-functional team approach
Lead or coordinate implementation of any identified corrective actions from contingency analyses
Develop internal expertise of relief contingency analysis through mentoring and training of other site engineers and technicians
Provide support to ensure the units meet all ISO, PSM, and other external and internal regulatory requirements
Collect and analyze data for process improvement opportunities
Utilize root cause analysis to find root causes of issues
Implement solutions to optimize unit performance
Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding new process technologies.
Requirements
BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing with a thorough understanding of process design engineering
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
Demonstrated personal commitment in safety, environmental, health and security practices
Track record of leading and implementing successful projects process changes and improvements
Strong sense of accountability, urgency, and self-direction
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
Comfortable working from platforms at elevated heights for field verification work
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to fully understand a process and its control philosophy
A strong understanding of fluid flow principles and thermodynamics
Proficient in applying relevant industry codes and standards such as API 520, API 521, ASME Section VIII
Ability to use risk analysis results to develop a strategy to eliminate or minimize the impact of risk scenarios
Understanding of Management of Change (MOC) processes.
