About this role
Role Overview
Lead and manage the private wealth business in Japan to become a top tier solutions provider of choice
Continue to refine and develop the Japan private wealth business plan together with the Asia leadership team and key stakeholders to seek out additional areas of growth for Partners Group
Developing and managing relationships with existing and new Private Wealth distribution partners such as global/regional/local banks and asset managers across relevant stakeholders
Sourcing and leading strategic distribution projects and product initiatives, coordinating day-to-day interactions across open-ended and closed-ended funds
Map out investor landscape, plan and undertake regular cold call campaigns
Understanding and presenting the full range of Partners Group's solutions to partner organizations including operational and regulatory features of a product/project
Working closely with Partners Group's global teams (portfolio solutions, structuring) and building strong rapport with headquarters
Understand key competitors' offerings and know how to best position Partners Group's solutions
Be involved in client onboarding, including CDD and KYC
Help develop junior professionals on the team, and in the Client Solutions department
Foster a collaborative working relationship with the existing Tokyo entity
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (MBA, Master's and/or CFA preferred)
10+ years of relevant work experience (preferably in private markets industry) in business development, consulting, sales & marketing, relationship management
Previous experience within the fund selection and institutional sales departments in Private Banking, Wealth Management, or Private Markets, is a plus.
Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and identifying/converting new clients with a track record of fundraising success
Team management experience
Familiarity with alternatives with a focus on semi-liquid products, mutual funds and close-ended products would be a distinct advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Strong relationship management skills
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a polished, professional manner
Attention to detail, extremely organized, and commitment to excellence.
Able to problem solve with a client-focused mindset
Responsive and willing to work to tight deadlines in a challenging environment
Fluency in Japanese is a must
Proficiency in business English – both written and verbal.
